Hobos Beacon app is designed to assist users with disabilities and limited abilities to send S-O-S texts to their In-Case-of-Emergency, I-C-E mobile phone numbers.

If location services are enable for the app, it serves as a digital beacon of last resort. Text sent will help members of the users social network locate and assist them in accessing emergency services.

Hobos Beacon app is used when the users disabilities or limited abilities make phone calls for help difficult or impossible without assistance, other forms of assistance are not available, or it is unsafe to make phone calls.

If you can call for help, calling is your first-best option.

Always check your messages for responses from I-C-E members once you initiate a text-to-I-C-E.

To set-up the app, allow app to use your current location, enter your full name and two I-C-E mobile phone numbers at the prompts.

Hobos Beacon app requires you to store two “In-Case-of-Emergency”, I-C-E, telephone numbers at set-up. Two I-C-E phone numbers are required.

Prior to sending your text for help, you can add more mobile phone numbers from your contacts or type in using the text message editor.

If you choose not the allow Hobos Beacon app to use location service, the app will still work. Your text message will be sent without location coordinates.

The app saves the name and I-C-E phone numbers that you enter for fast access. You can edit or change this information at anytime.

Always check your messages for responses once you initiate a text-to-I-C-E.
